MAC PIGMENT IN MAGIC SPELLS FROM THE ARCHIE'S GIRLS COLLECTION REVIEW AND SWATCH.

I recently opened this bad boy. This is Magic Spells from the Archie's Girls Mac collection that came out around February 2013. You can still grab a few pieces of the Archie's Girls collection online from Debenhams, House of Fraser and Selfridges - But only selected items. Even though I have left it late to review this, I felt the need to show the world the pretty colour that sits in this gorgeous little pot. If you ever come across it in a blog sale or online, be sure to pick this up!

The soft, fine dust is cased in this pretty little pot, with a white lid and Veronica's face on the front. Magic Spells is a very appropriate name for this mystical colour. The colour of the pigment is a deep black with slight hints of teal. The base itself is matte, and the beautiful teal, green and navy shimmer gives it something special. Reminding me of petrol in the water, this pretty shade couldn't go a miss when I saw it. It's perfect for making a smokey eye a little different. The amazing pigmentation means you can use this on it's own, but its ability to also add a sheer darkened colour to the lids is exciting, enabling me to really play with this product. If you want something similar to this, Barry M's Petrol Black is very similar, but has a more purple shimmer to it, which I will review very soon. This stays put too, but I team it with a Paint Pot from Mac, or my Urban Decay Primer Potion. You can also use this wet which intensifies the colour and makes it even more opaque. 

Also from the collection, I have reviewed the Ronnie Red Lipstick, the blush in Cream Soda, Veronica's Blush Pearlmatte Face Powder and the Caramel Sundae Shadow Palette.

What did you pick up from the Archie's Girls collection?

SLEEK PRODUCTS REVIEW - POUT PAINTS IN PEEK-A-BLOO, CLOUD 9 AND PINK UP. DIP IT EYELINER IN PASTEL GREEN, GOLD AND BLACK.

About a month ago I was asked to do the makeup for a Musical, Pippin. With crazy colours and mental make up I made this an excuse to find a few more bright make up essentials to add to my kit. I had been meaning to get my eager hands on the Sleek Pout Paints for a while but never got round to it, and always went to Mac for lipsticks. I was also drawn to the gorgeous Pastel Green Dip-It eyeliner, so I obviously needed that too.

First we have the Pout Paints, my new obsession. Of course I had to pick up Peek-A-Boo, a true blue shade. I then added Pin-Up, a appropriately named red, and Cloud 9 a bright white. The one thing I really don't like about these is the taste and smell. It really reminds me of rubber gloves. Or is that just me? The application on a few were also a bit tricky. Also, these don't set like most lipsticks which is a big issue for me, so be careful not to smudge! Let's break the colours down.

The colour is dispensed from a little tube, so I advise

a little lip brush to apply!

Peek-A-Bloo

Peek-A-Bloo is a bright blue shade which I needed! It was perfect for the stage make up of Pippin, and people told me how good the blue lips looked. It really stood out on stage which was perfect. Application of this product wasn't too bad. After using a brush to apply the product to the lips I had to work the product in well to avoid streaks. Like all the Pout Paints it has a not-gloss-but-not-lipstick feel. It's more of a very high pigmented thicker gloss, that's not overly sticky. I was so impressed with this shade and how good the colour was. It's also quite glossy, but not as glossy as Pin Up is. I also added this colour, Cloud 9 and Pin Up to create a violet shade which looked so lovely.

Cloud 9

Cloud 9 is a bright white. This was a little tricky to apply due to it's pigment, and as you can see the lipstick isn't as evenly applied as I would liked it to have been. However, I'd never wear the white by itself so I wasn't too fussed, but for the purpose of the review the white wasn't as pigmented as I wanted. I found it was a little thicker compared to Peek-A-Bloo. I use the white to make more pastel colours, or get creative with gradients. Cloud 9 is still a glossy shade, but the least out of the lot. Just let down by how streaky it looks by itself.

Pin Up

Pin Up was my star buy. When I tried it on, I was completely in love. The bright blood red shade looks stunning, and is crazily pigmented. I'm a sucker for a red lipstick, so I was so impressed with how this looked. It looks really good just over my natural lip line to create a more plump look. This is a glossy red - And I normally stay very clear from gloss - But I just love how this looks. There was also only a teeny bit of  bleeding, so a thumbs up from me. A dream to apply with a brush, easy application and spot on with the consistency. What's not to love? I can't explain enough how much I love this! My new favourite red for sure. Move over Mac's Riri Woo, there's a better red on the block. The thing I found with these Pout Paints was how it will go on your teeth for the first few moments off application, but after blotting the inner part of your lips and a little wear, this does stop happening. That aside I found the Pout Paints really long wearing. 

Let's get creative. With the Peek-A-Bloo all over and Cloud 9 in the inner lips, you can create a ombre effect. The styles are endless with these Pout Paints.

Mix it up a bit to choose a colour for any mood or occasion.

 L-R, Pastel Green, Black and Gold.

These Dip-It Eyeliner from Sleek are pretty good. I love the gorgeous gold and I find that the pigment in that beauty is spot on. However, Black and Pastel Green let me down slightly. Pastel Green is a pretty mint green with a slight hint of shimmer, but wasn't as pigmented as I'd like and found it a little streaky to apply. But once getting the grips of it, I could achieve a pretty spring-time look. I love that the Black shade is completely matte, but it lacked in intensity. However, I reach for it a lot for a smokey eye as it just suits a smokey look perfectly. The staying power on all of these are pretty good, and last the day, although with teary eyes or oily eyelids these can smudge slightly. These are handy for my kit, but the bottom note is that I probably wont repurchase these again, but there are worse eyeliners out there on the high street - So these aren't that bad.

Overall, my best buy was the Pout Paints, especially the beautiful Pin Up. Grab the Pout Paints for £4.99 each online with the Dip-It Eyeliners for £4.49. Or grab them at your nearest Superdrug.

MAC PRO LONGWEAR PAINT POT IN ECLAIR AND MOONCAKE FROM THE BAKING BEAUTIES COLLECTION REVIEW AND SWATCH

I had never tried Mac's Paint Pots until they released 3 limited edition shades with their Baking Beauties collection. I was drawn to the gorgeous shades Eclair and Mooncake, the other in the collection named Fancy Frosting. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but so many people have loved and raved about the Paint Pots with how long they last.

This is the gorgeous Mooncake. A really pretty golden beige with a lot of light gold shimmer. This is a very light colour and looks gorgeous on the lids on its own. It packs a lot of glitter and a little goes a long way. It's easy to smooth onto your eyelids and is easy to blend with other Paint Pots. Once it's set, it's hard to budge. It's crease free - Hurrah - and does not move! There's no glitter fall out as it's more of a creamy shadow and just looks gorgeous on my skin. This would flatter any skin tone or eyes with it's soft gold shade and pretty glitter. It lasts ages on the lids, but not as long as Eclair did. Maybe it's because of its softer colour and amount of glitter in comparison to Eclair.

Eclair is a gorgeous dark red toned bronze with slight gold tones. Now I cannot stress how long it lasts on my eyes. Literally forever!! When I first swatched it a week back, it stayed on my arm all day, even when trying to wash it off! But with a decent make up wipe it comes off a breeze. I love this super pigmented metallic bronze and looks really lovely alongside Mooncake. I find both these paint pots a little tricky to blend to start with, but after a few applications you get to grips with how it works. Not quite a cream eyeshadow though, so don't expect it to be sticky or hard to put on. They both have a very smooth and silky feel to them and glide effortlessly onto the eyelid. You can apply with a brush, or sweep on a bit of colour with a finger - It's completely up to you.

Overall, I think these Mac Paint Pots are going to be my new obsession. Move over Mac Lipsticks, the Paint Pots have taken over. What's your favourite Paint Pot colour? SOAP & GLORY SMOULDER KOHL SUPERBLACK WATERPROOF EYELINER SWATCH AND REVIEW

I haven't bought a black eyeliner in years. Not for myself anyway. I never used it in my teen years and I hadn't used it at all until now. If I needed it I'd hop to my mum's room and steal hers for a bit. Recently I've been loving smokey eyes for daytime and nighttime, and I needed a black eyeliner to complete the look. When taking a browse in Boots to find one that I liked I wondered over to Soap & Glory to check out their lip balms - Which I also picked up! Naughty Hannah. Oh, and a liquid eyeliner (Which originally was the prime reason to go into town anyway!). I picked this up at it's great price tag at £5, not really sure what to expect. 

As soon as I got home I went to work on a smokey eyed look and sweeped this on my waterline. I don't know about you, but I have the worlds most watery eyes and I wasn't expecting this to last, even though this is waterproof. First I was pleasantly surprised by how it melted onto my lash line. I then noticed how black it looked too, and the shade is appropriately named Superblack. By that point I was already impressed, and for £5 I was pretty happy. 4 hours on after a show I looked in the mirror and was greeted with no black marks under my eyes. Really? I checked again to make sure. My eyeliner had stayed put. Thinking it was a fluke, I wore smokey eyes throughout the week and noticed that it still wouldn't budge! An absolute miracle. When playing around with the eyeliner I also noticed how easy it is to blend to create and effortless smokey eye. It's true to say that I have no idea why I never picked this up sooner. An added bonus is the sharper on the end, I'm always asking my flat mates for one as I'm constantly loosing mine, so this is just ideal.

PINK STARGAZER LILY INSPIRED EYESHADOW

I've recently loved looking at flowers and found to be inspired by them. Lilies are no doubt a gorgeous flower and I really wanted to do a look inspired by them. With subtle ombre eyebrows and dotty eyeshadow this isn't the one to wear out! 

Products used are as follows;

• Matte Eyeshadow by Topshop in Painted - Used all over the lid and to create the flick. This pink tinted red eyeshadow can also be used wet, so I used a eyeliner brush to add the dots.
• Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Bender - Used on the end of the brows.
• Mac Eyeshadow in Charcoal Brown - Used for the brows.
• Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Kush - A green shade used on the lower lash line to create a point.
• Mac Eyeshadow in Golden Rod - Used over the top of Kush, and also under the brow bone.
• Mac Eyeshadow in Crystal Avalanche - Used as a high lighter all over the eye area.
• Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden - Used before the shadows are applied.
• Soap & Glory Mascara

It was pretty simple to do and I enjoyed blending and using shadows wet. I was really excited to do this look as I love editorial looks and I love getting creative.

SLEEK I-DEVINE LAGOON PALETTE SWATCH AND REVIEW

It's no secret that I love all things mystical. Fairies, trolls, pixies, elves, witches and magic. It's also no secret that I am a musical theatre student... That aside I've always loved mermaids, and when Sleek released a palette inspired by the mystical creatures of the deep I couldn't refuse. 

When I first opened the palette I was greeted by soft shimmery hues and deep delights. The one that caught my eye the most was the pop of the coral in the bottom right corner, appropriately named Ariel. There are 3 mattes in this collection and the rest are gorgeously shimmery shades.

On the top row, L-R we have Sassea, Deep Water, Reflection, Emerald, Oyster and Black Pearl.
Sassea is a bright yet soft shimmery teal that reminds me of swimming in the red sea in Egypt last summer. It has very subtle lime/gold shimmer to make this shade gorgeous. 

Deep Sea is a favourite of mine. This shade is a matte egg plant colour that has soft red tones to it which you can kind of see when swatched. I love using this as a crease colour with the shade Night Sky. Deep Sea has great colour pay off which I really love and is blended well too.

Reflection is a very soft powder pink shimmer which looks really pretty washed over the lids or as a highlight. I love this shade and looks lovely blended with other colours in this palette.

Emerald looks rather bright in the pan but only comes across like that on the lids after a few layers. It has subtle blue tones to it and looks lovely alongside Sassea.

Oyster is stunning. It's really well pigmented and shimmers gorgeously, picking up light effortlessly. It makes a perfect high lighter when used softly, but this cream toned white also looks lovely on its own or in the inner corner of the eyes.

Black Pearl is a shimmery dark black that has brilliant colour pay off. The shimmer in this is very subtle and almost has a 'wet look' to it which I really love with this mermaid themed palette. I really love this black and I can't be more excited to use it!

On the second row of the Lagoon palette we have L-R, Pink Jewel, Sand Dollar, Underworld, Sea Shell, Night Sky and Ariel.

Pink Jewel is a pretty peach colour with gold shimmer. I really like this shade but I feel it's seen before in a lot of palettes across different brands. However I really love how buttery this feels and it has the perfect amount of gold and colour pay off. It's a perfect spring shade! 

Sand Dollar is a lovely antique gold colour with lovely shimmer. I really love this on the lids on it's own, but teams up perfectly with Sea Shell. I love the colour payoff and I think it's a great addition to this palette. Reminds me of a golden beach!

Under World is a pretty shimmery blue that I can really imagine mystical mermaids swimming in. I like the formula of this one but I can't imagine wearing this on it's own. This shade would have to be teamed up with a few more colours. I love how bright yet subtle this shade is.

Sea Shell is a bronze beauty with ah-mazing colour pay off. Personally I think it's one of the shimmery colours with the best pay off. This looks lovely as a crease/shading colour and glides on really well. I really love this colour and can see it getting a lot of use.

Night Sky is beautiful. Sitting next to Ariel reminds me of a gorgeous sunset. This matte beauty has great colour pay off and glides on lovely. I love using this and I can't stop staring at it!

Ariel is my favourite shade and one of the reasons I wanted this palette. I was not disappointed! It's super bright and has great pigmentation! I was so happy with this shade and have been wearing it teamed with some other colours from the palette. This shade is super bright, so if you're not a colour braver, this shade wont be touched!

Overall I am a very happy Hannah. This palette has gorgeous colours with lovely formulas and shimmers. The mattes are to die for and the shimmers remind me of what could be in the deep sea... Grab this beauty for £7.99 from Sleek or pop down to your local Superdrug.

LEOPARD PRINT EYES

I love getting creative! I've just arrived home and could not wait to get back into my make up! I wanted to try something a little different, and this was my first attempt at it! It was pretty straight forward to do actually, and little products were used.

• Urban Decay Vol II Palette, using the colours Half Baked - The gold for the lids - and Twice Baked for the dots. I also used the Urban Decay Anniversary Palette and used the matte black Blackout to shade around my lids. 
• I used Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner in black to go around the small brown dots to create the leopard print look. I also used this below my lower lashes to create the point in the inner corner of my eye.
• Handwritten eyeshadow by Mac for my brows.
• Soap & Glory mascara

That's all I used! To achieve the print:

• I used a base gold colour all over the lids.
• With a small brush I applied different sized brown dots over the gold.
• With a liquid eyeliner I went around the dots - not fully around the dots though as you want it to be as leopard-y as possible.

COLLECTION 2000 POPTASTIC PALETTE SPRING LOOK

I recently reviewed the Collection 2000 Poptastic Palette which I will be using for this look! I wanted to create a simple and affordable bright spring look. I used the blue on mostly all of the eye lid, and used the yellow in the corner and then the lime under the bottom eye lashes. It was so simple and so easy to do. I loved the final look and gave my eyes a subtle, yet bright, spring look. I then used 17's Lipstick in Dreamy dabbed all over my lips. For the rest of the look I used Handwritten Eyeshadow by Mac, BB Foundation from MUA, Cream Soda blusher from Mac and Soap & Glory Mascara. The bottom picture doesn't give the eyeshadow justice as it was so bright I couldn't get a decent photo. But the close up of one eye is pretty accurate.

COLLECTION 2000 POPTASTIC PALETTE REVIEW AND SWATCH

I'm a huge eyeshadow hoarder and I can't help but get drawn to gorgeous palettes - This beautiful bright palette being no exception. I'd seen it a few times in Boots and always toyed with the idea of getting it, but found it this week in my local Poundland! Result! For a great price at a £1 I could not say no - And I wasn't disappointed. This bright palette had matte and shimmer mixes with some hits and misses. Without further ado, let's break down the colours.

The first row and the first pan of the second row. The matte yellow is the first one in the palette and nothing to be wowed by. This looks bright in the pan but comes out on the eyes and swatched as a wash of yellow colour. However it does actually look quite nice on the eyes as a wash of pastel-like colour. Next we have another matte and this time it's a purple with slight and subtle blue shimmer. I really love this colour in the pan, but like the yellow it's very washy swatched. Next we have a gorgeous aqua teal shimmery colour which I cannot wait to use properly. It has amazing pigment and is no doubt a beautiful shade. We then have a pretty matte pink which is again not as pigmented. So far the mattes have been a miss.

From the middle of the second row through to the end. This matte blue is stunning, and very similar in formula and colour to Mac's Electric Eel. It's super bright and looks gorgeous, and it so well blended. Another hit was the lime next to it which had a shimmer/matte look and feel. Again it has incredible pigmentation and is my favourite colour in the palette. I cannot wait to show this colour off in spring and summer! We then have a shimmery green which is average. It has decent pigmentation but it's not great. The dark matte blue is incredible. It has AMAZING pigmentation and blends like a dream. I was so excited by this, and appears like a darkened version of Chaos from the Urban Decay Vice Palette. Then we have the matte black which you can see isn't very black. It's not something I'll use as there's hardly any colour to it. I'd rather have had a matte red or deep purple, but it was a good idea if it was executed well.

So there we have it! The Poptastic palette reviewed and swatched. You can pick it up on the Collection 2000 website for £4.19, but as I said, I got mine from Poundland.

ILLAMASQUA POWDER EYE SHADOW IN MOONFLOWER AND BOOMERANG, ELECTRUM LIQUID METAL AND GLISTER PRECISION INK SWATCHES AND REVIEWS.

I was super excited when my loving boyfriend treated me with some bits from Illamasqua. I have another nail varnish to show you in Radium which I am excited for! I picked up two Powder Eye Shadows in Moonflower and Boomerang. I also picked up one of their Liquid Metal shadows in Electrum and one of their Precision Ink in Glister.

I am quite literally in love with how amazing these shadows are. The pigment is incredible and the formula is so smooth and soft with some serious colour pay off. Moonflower is on the left - A gorgeous delicate shimmery white with a slight hint of cream. This is stunning all over the lids or just in the corners. I also noticed that it makes a lovely subtle high lighter if applied softly. We then move onto Boomerang which you can already see its amazing colour. It's so smooth to apply and needs little to achieve good colour. I love this shade of brown and is perfect for a crease colour or because of its matte texture I can apply this to my eyebrows to create a natural look. I am over the moon about these colours and I am so excited to pick up more shades from Illamasqua,

This is the Liquid Metal in Electrum. I was so excited to try this out, and when swatched it has an unbelievable shimmer and colour pay off. It also reflects light so effortlessly and looks gorgeous. Unfortunately that's were the praise ends for me. I was so disappointed as this really looked beautiful in the pot and swatched. Once on the lids it pretty much creased on me straight away. I even tried primer and even setting spray and nothing seemed to help. I was so upset as it looked so lovely and applied so well. I used this product heavily in a recent look which you can find here.

Glister, one of Illamasqua's Precision Ink eyeliners is a pretty nude nude/tanned looking eyeliner with gorgeous small shimmering blue and violet iridescent glitter. I love how different this eyeliner is and I can't wait to incorporate it in some of my looks. It stays put too which is great, and lasts the whole of the day without fading. The applicator is great for creating precise lines.
