SLEEK DISTORTED DREAMS HIGHLIGHTING PALETTE

When I first saw this, I HAD to have it. There was no way I was going to let this out of my sight. I picked this up from Boots, but I can only find it available online at Superdrug, so grab this here while you can for £11.

I had seen this on Trendmood (If you don't follow her on Instagram what are you doing?) and knew I had to have it when it was released in stores. I don't think it was available for very long, maybe a month or so, so can only assume that it was incredibly popular. I'm already a huge fan of their highlighters, especially their Solstice Highlighting Palette which I reviewed almost a year ago. I've hit pan on that palette now, but I've moved that aside for a hot minute to make way for this beautiful palette.

Sleek describes this highlighting palette has a mixture of creams and powders with holographic and reflective pigments. This palette has three creams and two powders, but I wouldn't describe this palette as holographic. It has a iridescent glow that really makes your skin look like it's glowing, almost radioactive looking. I adore that there are three creams in here. I softly apply them with a beauty blender on top of foundation to try and not disturb the foundation underneath. If I'm feeling a little extra, I'll apply the powder on top. If I don't do that, I just wear the cream or powder as is.

The creams and shadows are equally as pigmented, packed full of iridescent shimmer that really show up on the skin. Both creams and shadows blend beautifully well, just be aware that blending the creams over foundation can be a little difficult, so you have to be gentle and work at it. My favourite shade in the palette is the bottom left, a really pretty violet hue. The highlighters last around the 6/7 hours mark on me, fading slowly throughout the day. 

I love the ethereal glow that the shades give. It gives a bright pastel glow that isn't too 'Oh my goodness is that blue on her cheeks?', with the highlighter being very soft. I reach for this palette and the Solstice the most at the moment for highlighters. I reach for this when I want to match a glittery eye look with my cheeks, and then the Solstice palette on my more natural days. 

For anyone wanting an inexpensive interesting highlighting palette, this is the one. And also if you're wanting to jump on the iridescent and holographic wagon, I'd recommend adding this to your collection and having a play around before splurging on a more expensive palette, such as the Kat Von D palette.

SLEEK SOLSTICE HIGHLIGHTING PALETTE

Look at that packaging. Look at it. I've had this palette for a while now but kept forgetting to right up my review. I picked this up from Superdrug because it looked gorgeous, unaware of the hype this highlighting palette has gotten. I love Sleek, and it's one of my high street favourites, I've already done a review for a Barekissed Illuminator here and an eye and cheek palette here, both which are beautiful. I love that this Solstice Highlighting palette is the same size as the eye and cheek palettes, I love consistency in a brand, makes me feel like I need to collect them all!

Not only is the packaging beautiful, but so is the product. There are four shades inside as well as a brush which I don't usually use, but it's a nice bonus. The first shade, Ecliptic is a bronze shimmery cream and the one over is Hemisphere, a gorgeous luminous pink/purple. Below these two we then have Subsolar, a golden shade and then Equinox, which has the exact formula as Hemisphere, just more of a campaign/bronze colour.

When I took this to Centre Parcs with me back in June, I took this with me for on the go glow. Surprisingly, Ecliptic made a beautiful eye shadow primer with a little bit of Equinox on top. It didn't crease on me throughout the night, and it looked beautiful. I'm yet to use it as a highlight as I tend to step away from cream products over my foundation. Hemisphere and Equinox are both uber shimmery, and give very subtle colour. These are both buildable highlighters, so you can have your glow as subtle or as eye catching as you see fit. Subsolar is a beautiful, beautiful shade and looks gorgeous aon my pale skin. It has more of a subtle glow compared to the other two powders, but again it's buildable. I usually use Equinox on my cheek bone and brow bone, and then Subsolar on my cupids bow and my nose.

Overall, this is totally worth the price tag. It's beautiful. The highlighters in this are all buttery, creamy, and can all be soft and shimmer or gold and bright. If you didn't buy it because you weren't sure if it was worth the hype - It really is. This will no doubt appear in my future makeup looks so you'll see it in action very soon! There's another highlighting palette from Sleek called Cleo's Kiss if you're into more of a gold shimmer. I'm eyeing up the Midas Touch highlighting palette, so maybe that'll be on the blog soon, too...

SLEEK BAREKISSED ILLUMINATOR IN CUBA - SWATCH AND REVIEW

Recently I have rediscovered Sleek makeup. They're one of the first brands I got into when getting involved with the makeup game and I hadn't tried much since. I already had a few of their cheek palettes, eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks and lip paints, so I wanted to go for something I hadn't tried before. With that in mind I went for the Sleek Barekissed Illuminator in Cuba. I have the Nars Super Orgasm illuminator which has a very very similar colour and consistency, although the Nars one is a little more gel like and more pigment, which has its pros and cons.

Cuba is a beautiful coral hue with gold reflects throughout. I am in love with the frosted glass bottle and pump. It looks so pretty on my makeup shelf. The product itself is gorgeous. It glides onto the skin with its creamy light consistency. I'll either apply this under a blush if I'm doing a full face, or if I'm doing a look with little foundation (My fave in the summer!) I pop this on the cheeks for a gorgeous, effortless glow. Because the pigmentation isn't overly powerful, it's easy to choose from a sunkissed glow to a more bold look, which is great as my Nars one is very pigmented and it's to over do it. For anyone that's afraid of the highlight trend this is a great one to go for, as it's also a blush in one, and gives a subtle hint of colour. There's also 3 other shades so check those out here.

SLEEK EYE & CHEEK PALETTE IN SEE YOU AT MIDNIGHT SWATCH AND REVIEW - AUTUMN MUST HAVE

I am a massive fan of Sleek and have been for a very long time. I use their shadows on a daily basis and I really think the quality of them is amazing - There really is a palette for everyone. Since being in the bloggersphere, the Sleek blushers seem to always be compared to Nars. I don't doubt that at as the pigmentation of them are completely amazing. When I saw Sleek had come out with a cheek and eye palette I was super excited. I picked up See You At Midnight and All Day Soiree, which you will see shortly.

The packaging is beautiful. It's chunky, but not too chunky. The thickness makes it feel luxorious, and more expensive than the £10 price tag. There's a mirror inside which is brilliant too, and the usual sponge applicator which I wont use, and the small blusher brush too, which again I probably wont use but its a nice touch.

As you can see, the palette is beautiful. It really is a autumn must have for me, and since buying it it's has a place in my bag (and my heart). If you pick up a palette for autumn, I really think this should be the one. The swatches below really don't give the shadows justice. These shadows come from the Vintage Romance I-Divine palette, which is a palette formed of berry, blues and gold shades which is perfect for autumn. The shades are shimmery and buttery. The purple and blue shades seem to have a black shift to it which is really beautiful. The gold is super pigmented and is gorgeous on the eyes, as does my favourite, the deep burgundy. The burgundy looks a lot more brown in the pan but comes out a gorgeous deep redy purple on my pale skin. While the others are very much shimmers, this one seems to be more of a satin/matte finish with small glitter throughout. 

The blushers are the stars of the palette and I cannot get enough of these autumnal perfect shades. First is Antique, a natural looking pink toned beige. This doesn't look too special in the pan, but once swatched this is gorgeous. This is a satin finish, so it's not too over powering if you're not into the shimmer blushers. Pomegranate is the most beautiful cranberry shade. I can't get over how gorgeous this shade is and how perfect it is for the chilly months. This is a pretty deep pink with lots of pinky coral shimmer. These are both so insanely pigmented! These blend out beautifully on this skin and stays put all day.

Overall, I cannot get over how perfect this is for autumn. If you're wanting to jazz up your summer makeup with something a bit darker for autumn, this is the perfect place to start. 4 on trend eyeshadows and 2 perfect blushers you're onto a winner.

Antique and Pomegranate blushers

SLEEK PRODUCTS REVIEW - POUT PAINTS IN PEEK-A-BLOO, CLOUD 9 AND PINK UP. DIP IT EYELINER IN PASTEL GREEN, GOLD AND BLACK.

About a month ago I was asked to do the makeup for a Musical, Pippin. With crazy colours and mental make up I made this an excuse to find a few more bright make up essentials to add to my kit. I had been meaning to get my eager hands on the Sleek Pout Paints for a while but never got round to it, and always went to Mac for lipsticks. I was also drawn to the gorgeous Pastel Green Dip-It eyeliner, so I obviously needed that too.

First we have the Pout Paints, my new obsession. Of course I had to pick up Peek-A-Boo, a true blue shade. I then added Pin-Up, a appropriately named red, and Cloud 9 a bright white. The one thing I really don't like about these is the taste and smell. It really reminds me of rubber gloves. Or is that just me? The application on a few were also a bit tricky. Also, these don't set like most lipsticks which is a big issue for me, so be careful not to smudge! Let's break the colours down.

The colour is dispensed from a little tube, so I advise

a little lip brush to apply!

Peek-A-Bloo

Peek-A-Bloo is a bright blue shade which I needed! It was perfect for the stage make up of Pippin, and people told me how good the blue lips looked. It really stood out on stage which was perfect. Application of this product wasn't too bad. After using a brush to apply the product to the lips I had to work the product in well to avoid streaks. Like all the Pout Paints it has a not-gloss-but-not-lipstick feel. It's more of a very high pigmented thicker gloss, that's not overly sticky. I was so impressed with this shade and how good the colour was. It's also quite glossy, but not as glossy as Pin Up is. I also added this colour, Cloud 9 and Pin Up to create a violet shade which looked so lovely.

Cloud 9

Cloud 9 is a bright white. This was a little tricky to apply due to it's pigment, and as you can see the lipstick isn't as evenly applied as I would liked it to have been. However, I'd never wear the white by itself so I wasn't too fussed, but for the purpose of the review the white wasn't as pigmented as I wanted. I found it was a little thicker compared to Peek-A-Bloo. I use the white to make more pastel colours, or get creative with gradients. Cloud 9 is still a glossy shade, but the least out of the lot. Just let down by how streaky it looks by itself.

Pin Up

Pin Up was my star buy. When I tried it on, I was completely in love. The bright blood red shade looks stunning, and is crazily pigmented. I'm a sucker for a red lipstick, so I was so impressed with how this looked. It looks really good just over my natural lip line to create a more plump look. This is a glossy red - And I normally stay very clear from gloss - But I just love how this looks. There was also only a teeny bit of  bleeding, so a thumbs up from me. A dream to apply with a brush, easy application and spot on with the consistency. What's not to love? I can't explain enough how much I love this! My new favourite red for sure. Move over Mac's Riri Woo, there's a better red on the block. The thing I found with these Pout Paints was how it will go on your teeth for the first few moments off application, but after blotting the inner part of your lips and a little wear, this does stop happening. That aside I found the Pout Paints really long wearing. 

Let's get creative. With the Peek-A-Bloo all over and Cloud 9 in the inner lips, you can create a ombre effect. The styles are endless with these Pout Paints.

Mix it up a bit to choose a colour for any mood or occasion.

 L-R, Pastel Green, Black and Gold.

These Dip-It Eyeliner from Sleek are pretty good. I love the gorgeous gold and I find that the pigment in that beauty is spot on. However, Black and Pastel Green let me down slightly. Pastel Green is a pretty mint green with a slight hint of shimmer, but wasn't as pigmented as I'd like and found it a little streaky to apply. But once getting the grips of it, I could achieve a pretty spring-time look. I love that the Black shade is completely matte, but it lacked in intensity. However, I reach for it a lot for a smokey eye as it just suits a smokey look perfectly. The staying power on all of these are pretty good, and last the day, although with teary eyes or oily eyelids these can smudge slightly. These are handy for my kit, but the bottom note is that I probably wont repurchase these again, but there are worse eyeliners out there on the high street - So these aren't that bad.

Overall, my best buy was the Pout Paints, especially the beautiful Pin Up. Grab the Pout Paints for £4.99 each online with the Dip-It Eyeliners for £4.49. Or grab them at your nearest Superdrug.

SLEEK FACE FORM REVIEW AND SWATCH IN MEDIUM

As I rushed around town to pick up a bronzer, I clocked this palette of golds at the Sleek stand at Superdrug. I had no idea of the price or the fact that there's different shades for different skin tones but took it to the counter in a hurry. Once home I tried it straight away. There's 3 sections to this contouring palette, hightlighter, bronzer and contouring shade. The shades in the palette depends on which one you've purchased depending on your skin type. This palette is for medium skin tones, I'd advise tanned skin. That said, I'm as pale as it comes. I love that the shades in this palette build so well. You can go out with subtly contoured skin, or as bronzed as it comes! With my pale skin I wondered how this would come out. Will this look like dirt on me? Surprisingly it didn't, and used softly in the correct areas this works a treat on my face. For my performing shows this will look great under bright lights too. I can't wait to use this palette on more tanned skin as I know it will look great, so I can't wait to do people's make up with it.

The shade on the left is a matte shade perfect for shadowing, the middle is a highlighter, and the right is a golden bronzer. Be careful of the contouring shade as it packs a bunch. A little of this can go a long way. Sweep this under your cheek bones for a defined look that Victoria Beckham would be proud off.  I love the highlighter and I love popping it on my T-zone and above my cheek bones. It gives my skin a gorgeous glow without looking false. The bronzer is really great for using on the cheeks and on the forehead  and anywhere else you want to add a soft glow too. This shade is really buildable and you can create a soft glow or a dramatic glow for your tan in no time. Overall, for someone who wasn't blessed with amazing cheek bones this little kit is pretty impressive, offering a gorgeous soft palette which lasts long on the skin and good value too. It comes neatly in the classic chic black Sleek packaging we all love.

SLEEK I-DEVINE LAGOON PALETTE SWATCH AND REVIEW

It's no secret that I love all things mystical. Fairies, trolls, pixies, elves, witches and magic. It's also no secret that I am a musical theatre student... That aside I've always loved mermaids, and when Sleek released a palette inspired by the mystical creatures of the deep I couldn't refuse. 

When I first opened the palette I was greeted by soft shimmery hues and deep delights. The one that caught my eye the most was the pop of the coral in the bottom right corner, appropriately named Ariel. There are 3 mattes in this collection and the rest are gorgeously shimmery shades.

On the top row, L-R we have Sassea, Deep Water, Reflection, Emerald, Oyster and Black Pearl.
Sassea is a bright yet soft shimmery teal that reminds me of swimming in the red sea in Egypt last summer. It has very subtle lime/gold shimmer to make this shade gorgeous. 

Deep Sea is a favourite of mine. This shade is a matte egg plant colour that has soft red tones to it which you can kind of see when swatched. I love using this as a crease colour with the shade Night Sky. Deep Sea has great colour pay off which I really love and is blended well too.

Reflection is a very soft powder pink shimmer which looks really pretty washed over the lids or as a highlight. I love this shade and looks lovely blended with other colours in this palette.

Emerald looks rather bright in the pan but only comes across like that on the lids after a few layers. It has subtle blue tones to it and looks lovely alongside Sassea.

Oyster is stunning. It's really well pigmented and shimmers gorgeously, picking up light effortlessly. It makes a perfect high lighter when used softly, but this cream toned white also looks lovely on its own or in the inner corner of the eyes.

Black Pearl is a shimmery dark black that has brilliant colour pay off. The shimmer in this is very subtle and almost has a 'wet look' to it which I really love with this mermaid themed palette. I really love this black and I can't be more excited to use it!

On the second row of the Lagoon palette we have L-R, Pink Jewel, Sand Dollar, Underworld, Sea Shell, Night Sky and Ariel.

Pink Jewel is a pretty peach colour with gold shimmer. I really like this shade but I feel it's seen before in a lot of palettes across different brands. However I really love how buttery this feels and it has the perfect amount of gold and colour pay off. It's a perfect spring shade! 

Sand Dollar is a lovely antique gold colour with lovely shimmer. I really love this on the lids on it's own, but teams up perfectly with Sea Shell. I love the colour payoff and I think it's a great addition to this palette. Reminds me of a golden beach!

Under World is a pretty shimmery blue that I can really imagine mystical mermaids swimming in. I like the formula of this one but I can't imagine wearing this on it's own. This shade would have to be teamed up with a few more colours. I love how bright yet subtle this shade is.

Sea Shell is a bronze beauty with ah-mazing colour pay off. Personally I think it's one of the shimmery colours with the best pay off. This looks lovely as a crease/shading colour and glides on really well. I really love this colour and can see it getting a lot of use.

Night Sky is beautiful. Sitting next to Ariel reminds me of a gorgeous sunset. This matte beauty has great colour pay off and glides on lovely. I love using this and I can't stop staring at it!

Ariel is my favourite shade and one of the reasons I wanted this palette. I was not disappointed! It's super bright and has great pigmentation! I was so happy with this shade and have been wearing it teamed with some other colours from the palette. This shade is super bright, so if you're not a colour braver, this shade wont be touched!

Overall I am a very happy Hannah. This palette has gorgeous colours with lovely formulas and shimmers. The mattes are to die for and the shimmers remind me of what could be in the deep sea... Grab this beauty for £7.99 from Sleek or pop down to your local Superdrug.
