OPI NAIL VARNISHES TO TAKE YOU THROUGH AUTUMN

I am a self confessed OPI snob. My nails rarely get the chance to wear anything but the gorgeous colours from OPI. I am a collector, hoarder and lover of every collection they release. While moving into a new room recently I sorted out my varnishes into colours and wondered which ones would take me through the chilly, beautiful autumn. I came up with these 10 pretty shades that I am for sure going to grace my nails with in the next few months!

DS GLOW - Glow is a GORGEOUS colour, and catches the light beautifully with its diamond shimmer. It's a very bronze based shimmery glitter colour and is a perfect colour to wear to parties and events.
VAMPSTERDAM - I LOVE this name!! How cute! I love this dark, almost black, deep purple. It has a slight metallic sheen to it which really adds a bit more depth to the usual vamp nails. I love dark nails for autumn so I recently added this to my ever-growing collection.
OVER THE TAUPE - Is my first EVER OPI polish. I use this all the time when I can't choose a colour. This is my perfect goes-with-anything colour!
KERMIT ME TO SPEAK - Is another new shade in my collection which I have loved over the passed few weeks. It has a gorgeous grey/bronze base to it, which has an electric violet dual tone to it, perfect for adding a little bit of colour to those dark autumn days!

WILLIAM TELL ME ABOUT OPI - This is a gorgeous dark blackcurrant colour which is to die for!! Perfect for evenings, or punking up any look.
SPRUNG - A pretty bronze red glitter shimmer colour which screams autumn! The shimmer contains gold, bronze and red shimmer, mostly red and bronze. Great for jazzing up outfits.
A BUTTERFLY MOMENT - Is a beautiful powder cool-tone pink with very subtle, delicate gold shimmer in it which is peeeeeerfect!!! I adore this colour so much, and is a dream to apply. This is great for making a look more girly. Love!
GAINING MOLE-MENTUM - This is great to put over any colour to add some zing! This pretty rose gold, gold and silver number is perfect for adding sparkle to any outfit, without going over board on the shimmer! The multi-cut foil adds and interesting and unusual spin to the glittery nail.

UNDERNEATH THE MISTLETOE - This gorgeous bright red has very small, and subtle silver glitter which really adds to the red. Gives the classic red nail a little life!
MY VAMPIRE IS BUFF - Is another to go to colour when all else fails!! Everyone needs a perfect nude to take them through the year and this one is perfect for my ghost like complexion, and would look great on all skin tones too!!

I hope this has inspired you to shake up your nail wardrobe!
Let me know what your faves are!

SEEING DOUBLE? - SINFULCOLORS HOTTIE VS OPI LAST FRIDAY NIGHT

Last Friday Night by OPI from the Katy Perry collection is one of my favourite shades in my OPI collection and I'm always using it on top of dark colours. After a browse in Boots recently I spotted a new SinfulColors stand, and at just under £2 each I had to have a look! Instantly I was drawn to Hottie, a pretty blue with iridescent glitter throughout. The reason I was drawn to it was because it looked identical to Last Friday Night, so when I got home I put them to the test.
At first glance these look uncanny, but with careful observation you notice small differences. Last Friday Night has more larger glitter, while the SinfulColors shade has more smaller silver particles. Also the consistency is slightly different, Hottie being more thicker, but both have fast drying time and wear.
I first applied two coasts of OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark as a base.
L-R in above photo - Index finger is Hottie, then Last Friday Night, then Hottie and then Last Friday Night
on the pinky.
As you can see, when applied Hottie does have more smaller particles in comparison to Last Friday Night. OPI's glittery shade has more of a sparse covering of the nail and is nice for a subtle shimmer. Overall, I love them both, but I have found myself reaching for more of Hottie for my evenings out as it gives my nails more sparkle. And plus, these glitters are perfect for a galaxy nail effect!
Which one do you prefer?
Have you tried SinfulColors before?

LIGHTS OF EMERALD CITY FROM THE OZ OPI COLLECTION SWATCH AND REVIEW - DAY 5 OF 10 DAYS OF OPI

As soon as I saw this gorgeous glitter top coat I needed it in my life. This pretty glitter from the OPI Oz collection has square see throught peach and blue shimmery pieces, and larger square white pieces. In the picture above I've painted Lights Of Emerald City over the top of I Vant To Be A Lone Star, also by OPI. I really love this shade and it looks like a bottle of magic! However when painting it onto my nails I noticed that I had to really try and get the white pieces onto the brush as they're didn't seem to be any. I also noticed the same about Where Monkeys Fly! from the same Oz collection. That aside it looks stunning!
Grab it for £11.50 from your nearest OPI stockist or online.

What do you think of this pretty glitter?
Do you like the OZ collection?
I'd love to hear from you!

BRIGHT LIGHTS BIG COLOUR OPI SWATCH - DAY 4 OF 10 DAYS OF OPI

For the 4th day of 10 Days Of OPI I've chosen Bright Lights Big Colour. This colour was suggested on my OPI collection post and to be honest I'd only used this colour once, and I have no idea why! After painting my nails with it again I've found a new love. The coral varnish packed with gold shimmer, I cannot wait to wear this in the bright sun in the summer. When I wore it, all I could think of was resting on the golden sands and swimming in the cool sea. I love this shade and it only needed 2 coats! It looks so gorgeous on the nails and I can't wait to paint my nails with it again. Thank you Hillary for suggesting it, I've found my summer shade! Like many other of the OPI polishes this lasted a good 4-5 days before any chipping occurred. It's not too late to suggest what colours you want in the 10 Days Of OPI, comment on this post here.

What do you think of this shimmery shade?
What's your favourite colour so far in the 10 Days Of OPI series?
And what's your all time favourite colour?
I'd love to hear from you,
and I respond to all comments!

DIVINE SWINE OPI FROM THE MUPPETS COLLECTION - DAY 3 OF 10 DAYS OF OPI

For the third day of 10 Days Of OPI I decided to show you Divine Swine, a gorgeous glitter from the beautiful Muppets OPI Collection. There's 12 gorgeous shades in this collection which include 5 really pretty glitters. I'll be sharing with you another from the collection in this 10 Days Of OPI series. Divine Swine is such a cute name for this pretty pink glitter. This varnish is full of little purpley pink glitter and medium sized silver hex glitter. I absolutely love this glitter! This is ideal for a top coat as the amount of glitter isn't too much and is easily buildable. This picture here I have 5 - Yikes! - coats to show you how gorgeous this glitter is, but luckily it dried quickly! Of course, this glitter was limited edition so can be found in some online stores and Ebay. I luckily picked mine up in a boutique last summer.

What do you think of Divine Swine?
Do you have anything from the Muppets collection?
I'd love to hear from you!

GET YOUR NUMBER LIQUID SAND OPI MARIAH CAREY COLLECTION - DAY 2 OF 10 DAYS OF OPI

As soon as I saw the Liquid Sand varnishes I fell in love. I wanted them all as I saw them through a window of a closed beauty parlor. Just after they came out I heard very mixed views. 'It takes ages to get off', 'It's too gritty', 'It chips easy'. So for that reason I was very hesitant to grab a bottle. After seeing Holly Arabella's post on the mini pack, I had to have one. After heading to my nearest beauty outlet I picked up Get Your Number - The only one they had in stock - a gorgeous glittery blue. It's a beautiful blue with a slight green tone to it with hundreds of teeny tiny glitter pieces, and a hand full of small silver pieces which has a rainbow shimmer. This beautiful varnish says it needs 2 coats, but I needed 3 before I had the desired look. It goes on the nails so smoothly with no streaks, despite its gritty appearance. The dry time wasn't overly quick as I kept smudging it. I had to leave the varnish to dry for around 5 minutes before I braved another coat. This polish dries matte to really enhance those glitter pieces. Because of the amount of glitter in this polish, I really wasn't looking forward to removing it but to my surprise it came off pretty quickly - Much faster than some glittery polishes I own. I also noticed that it lasted around 4 days before it started chipping which I was impressed with! I am in love with this polish and I can't wait to pick up another shade from the Liquid Sand range. Because of its rough texture I know that this wont be for everyone. It took a while to get used too but surprisingly didn't annoy me at all.
You can get this shade, along with the other 3 shades from the Mariah Carey collection at Beauty Bay for £11.

What do you think of this colour?
Do you like the effect?
I'd love to hear from you!!

WHERE MONKEYS FLY! GREAT AND WONDERFUL OZ BY OPI TEAMED WITH STRANGER TIDES - DAY 1 OF 10 DAYS OF OPI

Part of the 10 Days of OPI posts I am doing!
As soon as I saw the Oz collection by OPI, I fell in love with the sparkly colours. The OPI collection is inspired by the film The Great And Wonderful Oz, based on the tales of Wizard Of Oz. Other makeup brands have teamed up with Disney to create Oz inspired products such as Urban Decay with the Glinda Palette. Where Monkeys Fly! is a gorgeous glitter coat with large hex gold pieces, and small silver rainbow iridescent sparkles in two small sizes. This is a truly unique glitter and I could not wait to get my hands on it.
I painted one coat of the glittery coat on top of OPI Stranger Tides from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection.
I am in love with this top coat and it is by far a statement. I found that the glitters in the whole of the Oz collection weren't as glittery as they appeared. I had to use the brush to pick up bigger pieces of glitter as the the brush didn't seem to pick up much glitter. I also found the same problem with Lights Of Emerald City. Nevertheless, once I had the desired look I could not stop looking at my nails. The glitters in the collection are stunning and I can't wait to show you a few more.
You can grab this stunning shade for £11.50 at your nearest OPI stockist.

What do you think of this glitter?
Do you like the OZ collection?
Have you bought anything from the collection?
Would love to hear from you!

NOTD - MINT GLITTER/MATTE GRADIENT NAILS

If you've read any previous posts you'll know that I am a huge nail art fan and I try to jazz up my nails in the most easiest ways. Today I'm sporting a mint nail with glitter gradient tips topped with a matte coat. I'm a huge fan of glitter and had just bought a matte top coat, so I was intrigued to how they'd work together.
What I used:

  • OPI MERMAIDS TEARS - A creamy, glossy mint colour.
  • OPI SERVIN' UP SPARKLE - A sparkly top coat with little glitter and larger hex glitter that have a holographic shine.
  • RIMMEL 5 IN 1 BASE AND TOP COAT - A shiny clear varnish used for top and bottom coat.
  • RIMMEL MATTE FINISH - A velvety top coat that transforms any polish to a matte finish
How I did it:

  1. First I applied Mermaids Tears. I used 2 coats and then waited to dry.
  2. I then dabbed Servin' Up Sparkle on the tips. I then kept layering, adding a varied amount of glitter to create the gradient effect. I used about 5 coats, and on the last coat made sure I had a few larger hex glitter to create more of a variety.
  3. I then applied a coat of the Rimmel 5 in 1 base and top coat to even out the surface ready for the matte coat
  4. Lastly I applied 2 coats of the Rimmel Matte Finish varnish.
And that's it! It's pretty simple and took no amount of skills - Just time! I took me an hour while sitting in front of the television to complete both nails as I wanted each coat to be completely dry before applying more. I will be reviewing the Rimmel Matte Coat and 5 in 1 Base and Top Coat very soon!

I'd love to know what you think!
Would you give it a go?
Thanks so much for reading, beautiful!

NAILS OF THE DAY - SPARKLY SPRING NAILS WITH LAST FRIDAY NIGHT OPI AND TEA BIRD BY FILTHY GORGEOUS

I love sparkly nails, so I felt that it was time to bling up my finger tips. I first layered on Tea Bird from Filthy Gorgeous. I am loving their varnishes at the moment, the pigment in those polishes are incredible and hardly need many coats. I'm also in love with it's oh-so-creamy formula too. I need some more of their nail polishes in my life!! You can grab a set of 4 for £19, or individuality for £9 at department stores, online and at Filthy Gorgeous London. The next gorgeous layer I put on my nails to create the magical glitter effect is Last Friday Night by OPI from its stunning Katy Perry collection. I love this shade and it's my to go to glitter top coat. Because of its cool toned clear polish, it can't be layered over a wide range of colours as it gives the colour a violet/blue tint. I tend to pop it over navy, blue, white and other colours a like. There's loads of little specs of glitter and slightly bigger ones, all transparent with gorgeous blue and pink iridescent shimmer. Simply stunning! You can't get this colour currently in stores, but you can pick them up on Ebay and other stores a like. I applied two coats of each colour to create my look. This is perfect for winter, and will even go through to spring as it's a gorgeous twist to the classic pastel nail polish.

What do you think of this look?
What is your favourite OPI colour?
Link me up in the comments to your glittery nail posts!

NICOLE BY OPI CELEB-BITTIES KARDASHIANKOLOR SWATCHES AND REVIEW - ALL KENDALL-ED UP, KIM-PLETELY IN LOVE, SEALED WITH A KRIS AND WEAR SOMETHING SPAR-KYLIE.

Completely devoted to all OPI nail polish, I was over the moon when I saw mum after a few days away and she treated me to this. She knows me so well! I'd never tried any Nicole by OPI varnishes before, so I was eager to see how they'd try out. You can grab these online and in selected boutiques still, the salon around from my boyfriends still have a few. These 4 minis retail at £13 online, and you can also get them at HQhair.
All Kendall-ed Up, Kim-Pletely In love, Sealed With A Kris and Wear Something Spar-Kylie.
Midsummer Night's Dream by MAC before.
With Kim-Pletely In love over the top.

Kim-Pletely in love is a gorgeous sheer nude/pink with loads of gorgeous iridescent shimmer in it. These shine green, teal, blue and pink depending on the light. Because of how sheer this polish is it needed loads of coats, and thought it looked more impressive over another polish like here. This gives the original polish more shimmer and looks magical. What's cute about these polishes is how they really are true to the Kardashians, with their Kardashian inspired names - Love!
All Kendall-ed Up, Sealed With A Kris and Wear Something Spar-Kylie.

These are all with two coats! All Kendall-ed Up is a true bright pink. I love this shade. It also gave me amazing colour with just the one coat - Brilliant! Sealed With A Kris seems like a dark maroon, but comes out more of a dark classic red once on the nails, but obviously more layers would make it slightly darker. Again this had good colour pay off and has the same creamy formula like All Kendall-ed Up did. Something Spar-Kylie is the prettiest of the bunch. This again looked great with just two layers. I adore how this looks. With a sheer pink shimmery base with loads of small light pink glitter, this looks gorgeous. And because it has such a generous amount of glitter it covered my nails so well. Gorgeous! This shade also wasn't too much of a pain to remove. It needed a lot of effort to remove, but it's not as annoying as other glitter polishes out there. I've had Sealed With A Kris on all day and have had no chips at all. I find that OPI last the longest for me, and I think that Nicole are up to their standards. I can't wait to use the rest of the colours properly. I'm not usually big on darker colours, but I really love how these look! Another win from OPI.

Have you tried Nicole by OPI before?
If so I'd love to hear what you have to say!
What colour is your favourite from these shades?
And have you tried OPI before?
I love hearing from you, and every comment means the world.
Thank you so much for reading, beautiful!!

NAILS OF THE DAY - CIATE COLOUR SMASH REVIEW USING VARIOUS VARNISHES

I like fun nails during my days at Uni. As we're allowed no make up, I make sure I make my nails as amazing as I can! I hadn't tried my Ciate Colour Smash varnishes yet (I got a set of the silver, black and white last year on a trip to Northampton) so I decided to try it out. I wasn't sure what colours to use as the base so I used a bunch!
First I applied the base colours and waited to dry, and then painted a generous amount of Ciate Colour Smash in white over the top. Overall I really loved Ciate's take on the crackle effect and they did a great job. See the products I used for making this look. What do you think of crackle effects? What is your favourite crackle effect nail polish? Thanks for reading! I love having a rainbow of glossy colours and these are the ones I selected. We have:

  • Dating A Royal - OPI - A gorgeous deep electric blue inspired by Kate's engagement ring. The formula is great, as I know a lot of OPI's can be hit and miss. It has a long wear too!
  • Fly - OPI - A gorgeous teal colour. This is one of my to go to polishes as it just looks stunning on the nails. This is part of the Nikki Minaj collection.
  • Green With Envy - Sally Hansen - A lovely lime green. It's a dream to apply as it's creamy formula is so easy to work with. It has great wear too.
  • Hampstead Gardens - Nails Inc - A gorgeous brown/yellow which is set to be a 'trend shade'. This was all over the catwalks last autumn and I expect it to make a return! I wasn't huge on the wear of this as I find Nails Inc chip not long after application.
  • Chubby Cheeks - Essie - I love this colour! A gorgeous coral with a pink tone to it. I am completely in love. I think the wear to this is very similar to OPI. However this shade had a better pay off compared with many OPI shades I have.
  • White Ciate Colour Smash. I love this. It has a better wear than a lot of crackle effects as many of them rub off, but this baby stays put. You can get this online from Ebay, Amazon etc, but not from Ciate anymore I'm afraid! Search online for it or outlets, I've seen these in TKmaxx a few times.

SERENA GLAM SLAM OPI SET REVIEW AND SWATCHES

Recently my lovely boyfriend treated me to an OPI set. We took a walk around his town and found the cutest OPI shop with 20% off everything!! What a little gem! After taking a while to choose, I fell in love with this set, Serena Glam Slam. They have a few colours paired up for this collection, but this is the pair I wanted! I loved how sparkly and gorgeous one varnish was, and how beautiful the purple varnish was.
On the left is Grape...Set...Match which is a deep purple full of fuchsia and blue shimmer. On the right is my favourite, Servin' Up Sparkle. This sparkly number is packed full of small silver sparkles, and silver hex glitter that has a rainbow shine - It's to die for! This sparkly varnish is perfect for a top coat on all nails, or just the one, it's even perfect on it's own!
Here's Grape...Set...Match by itself. I love this colour. It's such a pretty deep purple, and it looks lovely on its own.
And this is where the magic happens! The glittery coat transforms the look completely. It looks magical and gorgeous! I love these two shades together, it really is a match made in heaven! You can get these Glam Slam sets in selected boutiques, or on Ebay. Be careful when purchasing on Ebay as some supplier sell fake products. Don't be afraid to ask the seller any questions. Thank you for reading!

007 GLITTER NAILS LOOK WITH OPI SKYFALL NAIL POLISHES

Another swatch from the James Bond collection from OPI, but this time I'll be sharing with you how I've been wearing two colours from the collection. I've got many compliments from this look as the colours really catch peoples eyes. It's so shimmery, sparkly and different. I first apply Golden Eye, I only have the small bottle, but you can get the full size in most OPI stockists at the moment. This look isn't for everyone, but I certainly love it!
After applying Golden Eye, I then apply one of my favourites from the collection, The Living Daylights. I love sparkles, and this is just a perfect colour for me. Santa did well at Christmas! It's sold out in a few places, so if you want to get it, I'd do it now!! It looks gorgeous over black too, and so many more colours!
I love the final look, and I wear a lot of plain clothes with big accessories, so this look really works for me, and I keep getting told how lovely the nails look. This looks certainly isn't for everyone, as it's a little out there, but I really love it. If you have these colours give it a try! Found this little beauty in John Lewis if you're wanting a few from the collection at a great price, including Golden Eye from this post, John Lewis has it. Hope you enjoyed reading!
