TOP 5 AUTUMNAL LIPSTICKS - COLLABORATION WITH JUSTINE PENDRILL

Autumn is my favourite seasons for makeup. There's an even better excuse for almost black lipstick and deep burgundy eyes which I am always doing. When chatting to one of my besties, Justine Pendrill another fellow blogger, we decided to collaborate and hunt down our top 5 lipsticks for this season. These were all easy no-brainers for me and I was quick to choose the top 5 that will be gracing my lips most of this season. OCC BLACK METAL DALIAH - Not only am I in love with the name, look at that purple. If that doesn't scream autumn, I'm not sure what does. I picked this up from Selfridges when I went to London with Justine for a blogging event. This is from the Moderncraft collection which has a few more other interesting shades. I can't seem to find this particular shade online so if you pop into Selfridges have a look at what OCC have to offer, as they have loads of beautiful shades that you can mix to find the perfect shade for you. The consistency isn't like anything else I've tried. It's very thick and pigmented, meaning you don't need a lot. This is titles as a matte, but unless you're applying a extremely thin amount it'll be more of a gloss. I really love this shade and it stays put all day - one of my faves for this season! These retail for around £13.

YSL ROUGE VOLUMPTE FORBIDDEN BURGUNDY - This beautiful autumn favourite is believed to be discontinued. However I had to put this into my top favourites as it really is perfect for autumn. This pretty deep burgundy has a creamy consistency so it glides effortlessly on the lips. For a rather expensive lipstick (around £26) this doesn't stay as well on the lips as I'd like. Because it's so creamy it does tend to slip and need retouching, but I still don't hate it for it. It's just such a beautiful colour that I forgive it's high price and occasional touch ups.

FASHION FAIR INTENSE COLOUR LIPSTICK IN RAGE* - I had to do a close up because of that metallic shimmer. I mean how beautiful is that? This is such a perfect red with a surprise of glitter which I really love. The glitter isn't grainy and you can't feel it on the lips. It just seems to glide on the lips beautifully. It stays put all day and the shimmer just adds and extra special touch to the usual red lip. This is perfect not just autumn, but Christmas too! If you're on the hunt for a slighty different red, go for this one. Fashion Fair specializes in skin for deep skin tones, but there's so much for everyone! You can get this from Debenhams here for £14.

MAC LIPSTICK IN PARAMOUNT - This narrowly missed my 5 Mac lipsticks which you can read here so it had to be in my top 5 autumn faves! This is the perfect brown for autumn I think as it almost leans on a burnt orange colour. It's not exactly a nude shade, but it's a great alternative if you're wanting to go deeper for autumn. It's a matte finish like the majority of my Mac lipsticks so it stays put for most of the day, so I can trust that I don't have to hunt for the mirror deep in my bag every hour. It's easy to apply too, even without a brush. Pick this up from your local Mac or online here for £15.50.

B. VIBRANT LIP AND CHEEK COLOUR IN GOJI* - Not only is it a universal lip and cheek colour - it's vegan too! I'm a huge lover of rose coloured lipstick and this is no expection. This is the perfect rose colour, and is great to pair with dark eyes. It adds a pretty yet subtle flush of colour on the cheeks once blended in giving a natural healthy glow. It's so creamy and goes on the lips really well and stays put too. I can't explain how much I love this shade. It's an all year round colour which makes me love it even more. If you're a pale princess like me, this is a must have. It's not too much of a bright lipstick and will compliment your skin beautifully. OCC LIP TAR - VAIN SWATCH AND REVIEW

I am Hannah - A OCC worshiper. I love OCC, and I have a small growing collection of 6 colours which I adore. OCC Lip Tars are highly pigmented liquid lipsticks that come in every colour imaginable. Green, bright yellow, glittery red, bright blue and this bold blue - Vain. I am obsessed with creating new shades of lipsticks by mixing different colours together - I can't stop!

The Lip Tar comes in a little pouch with its own cute brush which is ideal for on the go girls. Throw it into the bag with no worries about accidental spillages. The pigmentation of this is insane. You need the littlest amount, this product goes a long way! It is slightly tricky to apply because even if you have slightly more product that you need, it will create streaks, but it's easy enough to fix with a little bit of tissue paper! It dries down to a semi matte finish which is really flattering. I seriously love this shade, it's perfect for mixing with other shades or if you're bold enough - alone! It's ideal for shows and bold editorial looks, so I will be trying to wiggle this in to future posts! The down side about this is that it seriously stained. I had to scrub this off, and even after some scrubbing it still left a slight tint of  blue - Not pretty! I will have to prime my lips in future to try and prevent this! The life of this shade is as impressive as always and lasts the day with little touch ups. I have already reviewed Nylon and Chlorophyll.

OCC LIP TAR IN CHLOROPHYLL - REVIEW AND SWATCH

I love my OCC Lip Tars and not long ago reviewed the bright pink shade, Nylon. I adore Lip Tars, so felt the need to go out and buy a strange colour to mix with colours to see what I could come up with. 

Chlorophyll is more of a blue toned green and looks slightly witchy! Again it has the small nozzle like most of the new OCC Lip Tars and is best applied with a lip brush. As much as I love this colour, and how it makes some gorgeous purples mixed with pinks - This alone is one of the disappointing Lip Tar colours.

As usual it has that sweet peppermint smell and tingle on the lips, but when applied it goes sheer in some places, and has a habbit of sinking into the cracks - Not ideal. Even with a few layers it still seeps into the groves and still shows some pigment of the lips. This was such a shame, but for mixing purposes this is really lovely and makes some pretty shades. The saying power of this one is as good as the others, stays on all day - But this one occasionally has slight wear in the inner lip. This is from one of the earliest collections, so I'll let them off for the blip of this shade!

OCC LIP TAR IN NYLON - REVIEW AND SWATCH

For years I was so eager to try out one of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics world famous Lip Tars. After a lovely trip to meet the lovely Marvelle at BlogOfShadows I picked up a few Lip Tars which over the past few months I have just fallen in love with. In the next week I have 3 more Lip Tars to show you, and I cannot wait to get more.

Lip Tars are liquid lipsticks that come in a cute tube with a small nozzle, perfect for applying directly to the lip brush, or into pots to mix up your own colours. I've tried mixing colours up but have been pretty limited with 4 colours, but I recently bought a green shade, so things could get interesting!

I tend to use a brush to apply the lipstick accurately, but on occasion I use my finger to add a subtle hint of colour when I'm in a rush. 

I am a Lip Tar convert, and I cannot be without one in my bag. The lipstick dries to a semi matte/satin finish. The more you apply, the glossier it is. You literally need the tiniest drop of this bright pink to create an opaque finish. I am in LOVE with Nylon, and is usually compared to OCC's Anime and MAC's Candy Yum Yum. The wear on this lipstick is also brilliant and lasts throughout the day with little touch ups - I can even eat and drink with it staying put!

I have now come to the conclusion that I need more OCC Lip Tars in my life. Usually the one for the Mac lipsticks (I have 25...) I am slowly coming over to the Lip Tar ways. With so many finishes and colours to choose from, you can definitely find one that you love, or mix up your own colours!
