JEFFREE STAR - QUEEN BEE - REVIEW AND SWATCH

I'm a huge fan of the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, and I have a few already. Including Jawbreaker and Blue Velvet which you can read about here and I'm Royalty and 714 here. I love the formula, the colours and the staying power - It sounds like the dream lipstick, doesn't it? Jeffree Star recently came out with his summer collection and every colour is to die for. I'm a bit strapped for cash (as always) so I limited myself to one lipstick and it had to be Queen Bee. I hadn't seen a yellow liquid lipstick that bold before, so I couldn't resist. I dreamed of applying it as eyeliner and thought about cool lip designs and knew I had to have it.

The formula wasn't as opaque as I'd liked it to have been, so I have to pat it on to get a full enough coverage. Another thing to say about the formula which I was too excited to experience, is the watermelon scent. And oh boy it did not disappoint! It smells heavenly! It instantly reminds me of summer and watermelon cocktails, I can't get enough.

I'm yet to try it on the lids as an eyeliner, but I've used 714 and Jawbreaker in the past and I've loved it. The staying power of Queen Bee is brilliant, and is easy to take off with an oil based makeup remover. It's kiss resistant like all the other shades, but you can't make out! It leaves little to none residue on glasses which is great for the washing up! For a bright coloured lipstick, I'm impressed. It lacks a little in the application but it's easily worked around if you're willing to put in the extra few minutes to get that perfect, crisp colour.

CURRENT TOP 10 BEAUTY FAVOURITES - COLLABORATION WITH LA BLOG BEAUTE

When sending out a tweet about blog collaborations the lovely Beth from La Blog Beaute tweeted me back, so don't forget to go give her lovely blog a peak. I was so excited to get to know a new blogger I hadn't met before, and she is super lovely which made my tweet worth while! We came up with the idea of our top 10 current favourites which was super easy for me. My makeup changes from month to month when I find new colours or new ideas that I like to get creative with, and these gorgeous 10 are the ones that have become my current favorites.

CIATE MINT CHOCOLATE NAIL VARNISH REMOVER - I'm currently obsessed with this at the moment. It leaves my fingers smelling all minty and sweet so of course it's a favourite. I did a full review on this recently which you can read here.
MAC BLUSH IN ROYAL SUNSET - A favourite of mine for a year now and I rarely stray from this. I'm honestly not wild about blushes and only own about 6 or 7. For this to be in my favourites really means something and goes to show how beautiful this is. It gives my pale skin the healthy pinkish glow in needs and gives my whole face a lift. Unfortunately this is a limited edition blush but is one that Mac seems to re-promote. It's not exactly a unique shade, but it's gorgeous. See my full review here.
ESSIE AVENUE MAINTAIN - This is from their 2013 collection but it's my to go to nail polish when I'm on the go. It only needs one coat and it dries super quickly. Great for on the go girls. It's a pretty shade of blue which may not be a favourite for autumn, but I'll be wearing this in the winter weeks. I have an old review for this here.
MAC 217 - I literally can't imagine blending without this. I LOVE THIS BRUSH. I always reach for it, and for me it's been an investment. It's blends effortlessly and I haven't a clue how I lived without it before this year. I can't seem to find this on their website but it was around the £17 mark.
SHU UEMURA EYELASH CURLERS - Yes, they're worth the hype. A little pricey at £20 from Space NK, but again this is an investment. When I did my makeup course these were the curlers they used so I had picked one up! I've never regretted spending £20 on a pair of eyelash curlers, and I had an inkling that I might.

MAC REFILL IN SHALE - This pretty delicate purple shade is perfect for autumn! It has a frosty grey tone purple finish which looks lovely by itself or blended with Vex, also from Mac, which I usually go for. It's perfect for adding a slight hint of colour if you're usually scared of it. You can get this from Mac for £10.
JEFFREE STAR I'M ROYALTY - I am literally obsessed with this shade and I wear it everywhere. Not only is the finish incredible, it lasts all day. NEAL'S YARD ROSEMARY AND CEDARWOOD HAIR TREATMENT - Since becoming a mermaid and bleaching my poor hair my scalp needs some TLC. This gives my roots the moisture it needs and gives my new growing hair some strength. This is perfect for the autumn and winter months as your scalp needs moisture just like your face! It's only £6.50 from Neal's Yard so I think that's such a bargain. You can read my full review here. Give your scalp some happiness!
NEAL AND WOLF VELVET HAIR OIL* - I picked this up from the Norwich Event and since bleaching my hair this has been my hair food. It gives moisture to my hair without weighing it down, and really smooths out those pesky frizzy bits. I am never without this as my hair really craves it. I'll do an in depth review soon as I am loving this! Grab this from Neal and Wolf for £14.95.
URBAN DECAY VICE 2 PALETTE - Even though this is limited edition and no longer available I always reach for this. I can create the perfect gold eye, a creative colourful smokey eye or natural looks. I really think this is one of the best palettes Urban Decay has ever come out with and it's so universal. If you ever come across this do pick it up as it's worth every penny.

JEFFREE STAR VELOUR LIQUID LIPSTICK REVIEW AND SWATCH - JAWBREAKER AND BLUE VELVET

I purchased Jeffree Star's 714 and I'm Royalty a few weeks back now, and since then he's come out with a few more shades! I have two of them, Blue Velvet and Jawbreaker, to show you today! These are the 'less wearable' of his collection so far, but since I do some pretty crazy makeup looks I felt I needed these! These are perfect for editorial shoots, and a few more things which I will go into in a moment. I'm already huge fans of these ridiculously pigmented lipsticks so I cannot wait to tell you my thoughts.

Blue Velvet

Have you EVER seen anything quite like Jawbreaker?! It's the perfect bright baby blue. This is INSANELY pigmented, and I had no trouble at all in getting good coverage on my lips. This shade is just crazy. Jeffree - You did good. This isn't at all drying either, and goes on fine on my semi-dry lips, which is always great! It dries down completely matte and I didn't use a brush for either of these pictures, just the wand pictured above. It hugs the lips well and gives a sharp edge. I also use a small angled liner brush to use this as eyeliner with a well primed and eyeshadowed lid. If it's not primed and shadowed properly it can get a little sticky - but it's not eyeliner after all! Blue Velvet is again extremely pigmented, and has the exact formula as Jawbreaker. This is the more wearable of the two if you're a little daring, as it does ever so slightly lean to a purple - although it is definitely blue! I'll be mixing some shades together soon and seeing what colours I can create! It's really hard to write about a product that has no faults at all! It really is the most perfect liquid to matte lipstick I own, and if you're a fan of that finish I recommend checking these out. There's a colour for everyone!

JEFFREE STAR VELOUR LIQUID LIPSTICK REVIEW AND SWATCH - I'M ROYALTY AND 714

I've had these beauties since they first came out - I'm Royalty back at the beginning of the year, and 714 a few months on. I have worn these to death, and I am constantly reaching for I'm Royalty, as I've never seen a purple shade like it! These lipsticks are the children of the fashion and beauty icon, Jeffree Star. I'd followed some of his music as a teen, so it was really cool to see him making a name for himself in the beauty world. The packaging is really girly, but still keeping classy. I've dropped these many times and never had problem with chipping or spilling - so a good lipstick to throw in the bag!

I'm Royalty is one of my most worn shades. If you follow me on Instagram, you will see that most of the time I am rocking this gorgeous shade of purple. I am a huge wearing of purples, so to find one that I adore completely is saying something. This takes a few times to get the hang of how to apply. Since it dries so quickly and because of the insane pigmentation, it can be tricky. I recommend using a brush to start with, but for the sake of the product and these pictures I applied it using the wand. These go on liquid, and within 15 seconds dry into a matte finish. This product stays on all day, with no need for touch ups.

I love 714, and it's a perfect balance between a neon and a pastel coral. It's the perfect holiday colour, and this will see me right through the summer. As much as I love this shade, it can be a bit of a nightmare. Because it's not as dark as I'm Royalty, this has a tenancy to streak on me - but only slightly. The problem is avoided with careful application, but it can be a bit of a hassle when in a rush. It has the exact finish and staying power as I'm Royalty, the only difference is the colour!

Being an American brand there's few places to grab these from. I recommend Cocktail Cosmetics, as that's where I bought mine and they're always restocking new colours. I have my eye on Weirdo and Anna Nicole next! I really recommend these lippies if you're on the hunt for more unusual colours that really do live beyond the price tag. For £13, you get a well pigmented colour that stays on your lips all day without fault - What's not to love?
