1950'S HAIR LOOK FROM NEAL AND WOLF

I've tried and loved Neal & Wolf, and when they asked me to style my hair into a 1950's inspired look, I couldn't say no. Continuously doing performances, mainly jazz, it would be ideal for me to have a wavy, sexy hair do. Read on to find out how I achieved a gorgeous hair look using the amazing Neal & Wolf products on my long hair!
I have very long hair, so I was a bit unsure with how it was going to turn out. But first of all I applied ELEVATE Volumising Lotion - Which I love - to wet hair, and dried with a dryer tipping my head upside down. This gave me crazy volume, and made a huge difference on my outcome. I then used the GUARD Heat Protect Spray all over. This smells gorgeous, and protects up to 220 degrees! Yay! Once my hair was dried, I used a curling wand as above and pulled the curls out still in their ring, and clipped them into my hair. I used this method a few times, and I can say that I love the outcome, and Neal & Wolf really enhances the outcome.

Excuse the no make up. I decided to keep my hair in it's up-do form during tech runs and do my hair and make up an hour before the show. I sprayed FIX Hold and Shine Spray over the curls so I can be sure that the curls will come out beautifully. I left this in for around 2-3 hours, and everyone was saying how cute I looked and how they wanted to see what it looked like when it came out. When I pulled the bobby pins out that kept them in place, I used a wide comb brush and my fingers to soften the curls.
So above we have pictures of me all ready for performing! The outcome looked beautiful, and my hair looked healthy and gorgeous. The curls stayed in beautifully, and everyone was saying how amazing my hair looked on stage, and I have Neal & Wolf to thank for! My hair was shiny and sexy, and didn't let me down. The look was perfect for my jazz night, and I can't wait to use these products more!

Prices of the products I used range from £11.50* to £12.50*.

NEAL & WOLF HAIR PRODUCTS - HEAT PROTECTION, SMOOTHING BLOW-DRY BALM AND INTENSIVE CARE TREATMENT REVIEW

I was delighted to be approached by the team at Neal & Wolf asking for my hair type, and to send down some products for me to try out. My hair is naturally curly (super ringlets/frizz) and is constantly straightened. I told them I had frizzy hair which is put under the heat a lot, so they recommended these and sent them out straight away. First impression? When I opened the parcel I was greeted to a gorgeous aroma, which reminded me of something. After a good hunt around my perfumes, I came across Insolence, which smells incredibly similar. The scent of these hair products is classy and delicate. It's not too over powering or sweet, so I really think Neal & Wolf have hit the nail on the head on the scent front.
I love how the packaging is simple and classy, their pretty Neal & Wolf logo on the front, with a embossed pattern across some of the product which is visible in the light is a pretty touch. I love how the whole collection of hair products all look similar.
Intensive Care Treatment
Smoothing Blow-Dry Balm

I put these to use straight away, and have been using them the past week to give them a good trial. I first tried out the Intensive Care Treatment which is for all hair types. When I tried this out I was greeted by the gorgeous scent again, which I am literally obsessed with! I applied it to my wet hair after shampooing which a standard shampoo and left on for the 3-5 minutes the product recommended. After drying my hair I could notice a huge difference, my hair was silky, soft, had no tangles and looked a lot more healthier. Hallelujah! My hair still had a little fluff to it, but that is only because my hair is super curly naturally, but this is where the Smoothing Blow-Dry Balm came into play.
The next time I washed my hair I then applied a small amount of the balm into my hair before drying, and my hair was frizz free. YES! It added moisture to my hair, which it claimed to do, so frizz was now a thing of the past. I was so surprised how quickly it smoothed out my rebellious of hairs, so I was very impressed. Could this brand be my new obsession? Yes. I think it could easily be.
Before straightening I then applied a few spritz of the Heat Protection spray which I was most excited about. I love this spray. It has the same gorgeous scent which I am in love with so that alone made me happy! This spray claims to protect up to 220ÂșC and keeps your hair silky with its meadowfoam seed oil. And boy did it deliver. It protected my hair like a dream, leaving my hair silky with no 'straw' like feel to the hair which it can get after constant exposure to heat. It let my hair feeling super silky and I couldn't help but wave my hair around.
Overall, I am a very happy Hannah, with swishy hair that smells gorgeous, even the day after washing my hair I could still smell the pretty scent. My hair looks healthy, silky and incredibly manageable. What more could a girl need?
Intensive Care Treatment is £12.95*, Smoothing Blow-Dry Balm for £11.95* and the star product for me is the Heat Protection for £10.95*.Grab a bottle of beauty from the Neal & Wolf shop online.

HOW I MAINTAIN MY CURLY AND FRIZZY HAIR - BUMBLE AND BUMBLE SHINE ON (AND ON...) FINISHING SPRAY, ALBERTO BALSAM AND BED HEAD.

As you can see, my natural hair is a mixture of curly, wavy and frizzy. Because of my layers the curls/waves vary. Most curly hair is prone to damage and mine is no exception. Because of my dry hair I avoid straighteners but I still blow dry and then use the curly hair with no heat technique. This is my hair when I've just washed it and left to dry. Everyone has their own ways of looking after their hair, but this is how I keep my frizzy hair in the best condition it can with no heat.
As a student I can't get amazing products so I ask for them on my birthdays and other occasions. Here is each product and what I do, and what it does for my hair.
  • Alberto Balsam Coconut and Lychee shampoo. I am in love with Alberto Balsam shampoos and conditioners at the moment as they're so well priced. £1?! Can't complain! These also claim to have all the ingredients the more high end hair products have. As a student these are a blessing, and I especially love the conditioners. I find that they're so nourishing and leave my hair silky soft. These also smell so good too and I get loads of compliments from using the Raspberry one. I'm not too bothered by shampoos and I'll use any of them, as I find that the conditioners benefit my hair more. So this little shampoo beauty does the trick. You can grab these lovely tubes of goodness from your nearest supermarket, I get mine from Tesco.
  • Bed Head TIGI Foxy Curls Frizz-Fighting Moisturelicious Conditioner. I really love this. However I don't think it stands out that much compared to other high street conditioners. It's good and does the job but I don't think it's worth the £9 price tag. You can get this at Fragrance Direct for £6.75. The one thing I love about this is the smell. My gosh. It smells divine. Once my hair has dried is smells like I've washed my hair in sweeties! My hair is good enough to eat once I've used this, and my boyfriend compliments me every time I use this and lasts until the next wash. Plus this really helps fight the frizz.
  • Bumble and Bumble Shine On Finishing Spray. This is another goodie from the lovely Holly Arabella - Check out her blog! I love this spray. It really defines my curls and keeps frizz at bay. I just spray some on and crunch my hair, and my curls are less frizzy and more defined. The one thing I don't like about it is its strong smell and it leaves my hands feeling dry. However once sprayed onto my hair you can't smell it at all, and my hair still smells of sweeties! I really love this, and I use it all the time on my curls. However I'm not a huge fan of using it on poker straight hair. It adds so much shine to my curls too which I am in love with, and this is definitely my to go to finishing spray. I think the price tag is a bit big for me, but I will be tempted to repurchase once used up. You can get the finishing spray from boots at £9.50 for 60mls or the 125mls that I have here from the Bumble and Bumble website for £21.50.
So that's my hair care for keeping my hair in tip top
shape while it's in its natural state!
What products do you use?
Do you have curly hair too?
If so what do you use?
Have you used these products?
I'd love to hear what you have to say, and I read and respond to all comments.
Thanks for reading, beautiful!

PERCY & REED FINISHING POLISH AND FOAMING TREATMENT MASK REVIEW

First thing I notice about Percy and Reed is their adorable packaging. Their little doodles and gorgeous logo, it looks so sleek on my bathroom shelf. For anyone out there who hasn't heard of Percy and Reed, they do amazing hair products that give you gorgeous results. Paul Percival and Adam Reed who own Niche Salon which you can find online here.
First I used the Foaming Treatment Hair Mask, which I adore! Once lathered into your hair you can't feel it. There's no greasy feeling on your hair, and leaves my hair feeling light. I then waited for 5 minutes and washed off. At first I was a bit skeptical, it felt like it was doing nothing to my hair. I was so wrong. Once I dried my hair, it felt like silk. I ran around my flat getting my flatmates to feel how amazing my hair felt. The next day my friend braided my hair and went 'Your hair is so easy to work with!' which is so different to my usual dry, brittle hair. This mask does wonders. I'm so glad I had the chance to try this. Usually you can pick up this product for £20 at the salon, but you can get it at QVCUK for £16. I was incredibly lucky to have been given this by Holly Arabella which you all have probably heard of. The only off putting thing I have about this product is the smell. To me it seemed a bit chemically, but I do prefer more tropical scented things, so I guess I'm a bit biased.
I love the Finishing Polish, it has a non greasy feel to it which I love. Once put into my hair it's gorgeously soft, and I can't stop touching it!! I love how creamy the product feels too, unlike some finishing products they can leave your hair greasy and heavy. This little light weight beauty is a god send. This smells slightly better than the hair mask, conatining horse chestnut extract but I still don't love it - Although a friend did say my hair smelt good after using it. I guess it's just personal opinion. You can pick up this life saver at SpaceNK for £10. I've been using this a while now and love it. Overall I am very happy with these products and so grateful I got to try out the Hair Mask recently after using the Finishing Polish for so long! Have you tried Percy and Reed? Thank you for reading!

MACADAMIA OIL SPRAY REVIEW

I've never tried Macadamia Oil before, and so annoyed I left it so long!! My hair is so frizzy once it's blow dried as my hair is so curly when left to dry. This was a life saver. Smoothed through my frizzy hair in a rush it left my hair feeling soft, silky and wavy. I've seen a few reviews on this already saying that it wasn't as good as the Macadamia Oil Treatment (Which I now have, but not used yet.) So I will tell you the comparison in the next review. This oil had a lovely nutty smell which made me hair smell gorgeous!!
I love how this has a spray bottle - No worries about getting hands greasy!! It's so easy to use and I love using it. Doesn't leave my hair greasy or wet - It's just perfect. It's so brilliant for making my hair gorgeous in seconds. Let me know what you think as most people have had different thoughts on Macadamia Oil.
You can find all Macadamia Oil products on the website. Get the 60mls Macadamia Oil spray here for £14.90, or the 125mls for £23.50.

WANT CURLY HAIR WITH NO HEAT?

I've been using this technique to curl my hair for years now as I have split end prone hair. My mum taught me this a fair few years ago and have never used heat to curl my hair again. Once you've tried this I doubt you'll go back to using tongs!! First of all you need a head band. Preferably one that looks like a big hair band, seen below. The next thing is optional, but I use it as once my hair has been blow dried (The only way I can do this technique as my hair is VERY curly naturally.) to stop my hair from going frizzy. The soothing cream is by Umberto Giannini and is available from boots, and does wonders for de-frizzing hair.
The next thing you do is put it over your head, also known as the 'hippy' way. Excuse my makeupless face!
Next is a bit that can be a bit tricky to do, but once you've done it once, it's a walk in the park!! Starting form the front of the face, pull a section of her up and into the band, so it looks as if it's curling over and then being tucked in. Click on the picture for a more clearer view.
Keep carrying on this technique around your head, doing the same movements on the other side of the head until you meet at the back. Keep taking a section of hair and tucking it into the band until you get something that looks like this.
This is such an easy thing to do. Once I've done I usually give my hair a spritz of hairspray to keep it in place. I usually sleep in this so when I walk up I get lovely curly hair!! But today I've done it in the morning and keeping it in until tonight when I go out! The length of hair depends on the outcome too, I've tried this on a few friends, and my friend with extremely long hair resulted in lovely big curls. Because I have a medium length I can choose what I want. The tighter the hair is around the band, and tighter the curls.
Even though I look a bit silly, here is the result. In total I had left it in 7 hours. I really hope you give this a try. This isn't the way to do curly hair for everyone, but it's certainly a life saver - and time saver - for me! It may take a few tries to get used to it, so maybe to a test run first, but I never looked back! I used to straighten curl my hair so much, and now I've stopped, my frizzy hair has now gone back to it's tight curls! Hurrah! I hope you liked reading and will give it a try - Thanks for reading!
