TURTLE BAY OPENING - NORWICH*

On the 25th of August I was invited along to the press event of the Turtle Bay opening in Norwich on Swan Lane. I've heard amazing things from my university friends who raved about Turtle Bay, but unfortunately for me there's not been a Turtle Bay in Norwich until now. When I was asked if I would be interested in popping along, I had to be there. A few weeks prior to this I had walked past and had a little peak in, noticing the brightly coloured van and getting a little too excited.
From the outside it look beautiful - I adore the bold teal lettering and glittering fairy lights in the window. I walked in with Justine and we were instantly greeted with drinks. I was given a Reggae Rum Punch which was delicious! I'm not usually a massive fan of rum, but the cocktail was so fruity I couldn't noticed it! After I was given the punch I began to take in the incredible décor. It's by far the most decorated restaurant in Norwich! I loved walking around and taking pictures as there was something amazing everywhere you looked. Even the ceiling had hidden surprises, and I'm sure when I go back I'll find something else I missed! This will be a very heavily pictured post, but you'll see why.

 Me and the cool van.
The bar itself was beautiful! I loved the beach vibes it gave off. After we had a mingle with other bloggers and took some pictures, we were gathered around the bar to listen about the inspired Jamaican dishes and the origins of the chain restaurant. After that we were sat down to be given a taste of the amazing food I had heard so many good things about! They even brought the drinks over to the table, so there was a continuous supply of cocktails. Brilliant, but lethal. The staff were incredible. Each one of them were happy and attentive, and genuinely excited about the restaurant. When I was taking pictures before the food, a lovely young waiter came over for a chat and answered any questions I had. The staff were truly faultless and Turtle Bay should be proud.
The chefs insisted on a photo!
 Watermelon Crush.
 One Love.
 Bay Bramble.
 Beach Food Platter
 Our Curry Goat.
 Coconut & Pineapple Punch.
 Jerk Chicken.

Dessert Platter of Banana & Toffee Cheesecake, Caymanas Rum Cake,
Zesty Lemon & Lime Tart, Dark Chocolate Brownie and
the Rum & Raisin Bread Pudding.

The food was amazing! When they first bought out the Our Curry Goat I instantly said no. But after a little persuasion from the rest of my table I gave it a go and I loved it! The spices were incredible and the goat was soft and melted in my mouth. The dumplings that cam with it were so lovely, and soaked up the juices effortlessly! The Jerk Chicken was also full of flavour after being marinated for 24 hours. It had flavour throughout that wasn't too spicy, and it tasted so good! I would love to be able to try a few more bits off the menu, as there were burgers and other curry dishes that sounded amazing! The desserts were just as good, and I adored the Banana & Toffee Cheesecake - by far my favourite! The Zesty Lemon & Lime tart had a beautiful passion fruit sauce that complimented the tart so well! As the title suggested, it was so zesty and tasted amazing. If you're a chocolate fan you'll love the Spiced Chocolate Pot. Not being a huge lover of dark chocolate, this wasn't my bag. But if you like dark chocolate and a hint of spice, you'll love this!
Overall I am so impressed with Turtle Bay and I'm so happy they've come to Norwich. If you're wanting to head out into the city this is a great place to start as the cocktails are amazing. I would say that if you're a veggie this isn't the place for you as it's heavily meat based, but there are a few veggie options available. I would highly recommend Turtle Bay and I plan to return very soon.

SLEEK BAREKISSED ILLUMINATOR IN CUBA - SWATCH AND REVIEW

Recently I have rediscovered Sleek makeup. They're one of the first brands I got into when getting involved with the makeup game and I hadn't tried much since. I already had a few of their cheek palettes, eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks and lip paints, so I wanted to go for something I hadn't tried before. With that in mind I went for the Sleek Barekissed Illuminator in Cuba. I have the Nars Super Orgasm illuminator which has a very very similar colour and consistency, although the Nars one is a little more gel like and more pigment, which has its pros and cons.
Cuba is a beautiful coral hue with gold reflects throughout. I am in love with the frosted glass bottle and pump. It looks so pretty on my makeup shelf. The product itself is gorgeous. It glides onto the skin with its creamy light consistency. I'll either apply this under a blush if I'm doing a full face, or if I'm doing a look with little foundation (My fave in the summer!) I pop this on the cheeks for a gorgeous, effortless glow. Because the pigmentation isn't overly powerful, it's easy to choose from a sunkissed glow to a more bold look, which is great as my Nars one is very pigmented and it's to over do it. For anyone that's afraid of the highlight trend this is a great one to go for, as it's also a blush in one, and gives a subtle hint of colour. There's also 3 other shades so check those out here.

You can check out this shade and the others here.
Sleek Barekissed Illuminator in Cuba is £8.99
from Boots or their wesbite.
